The Montblanc Star Legacy product line is inspired by the legacy and pocket watches of Minerva, crafted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Latin phrase "orbis terrarum," meaning "globe," "earth," or "world," served as the inspiration for the Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum. The watch is powered by an automatic movement featuring a manufacture complication. The fundamental concept was to create a world time function that is easy to set, intuitive to read, and easy to use, without compromising on elegant aesthetics. Once set, the watch displays the time in all 24 time zones at a glance and also indicates which cities are currently experiencing day or night. Thanks to the single pusher, the watch can be easily set on the go. The dial consists of a rotating sapphire crystal disc with an applied three-dimensional, rhodium-plated map of the northern hemisphere and meridians, surrounded by a ring displaying 24 cities representing the 24 time zones. Below this sapphire crystal disc is the day/night indicator, which rotates once on its axis every 24 hours. Its color changes from light gray during the day to dark gray at night. At 12 o'clock, a red hand points to the city corresponding to the wearer's local time zone. The watch features a 43 mm polished stainless steel case with satin-finished sides.
