Experience the magnificent masked ball hosted by Louis XV in 1745 in the famous Hall of Mirrors at Versailles with the Montblanc Star Legacy Suspended Exo Tourbillon Château de Versailles: “Le Secret du Bal des Ifs.” This exceptional timepiece combines traditional haute horlogerie techniques, marquetry, hand engraving, and champlevé enamel with digital 3D modeling and laser engraving. The main dial is a recreation of the famous “Yew Tree Ball,” featuring a base of 18-karat white gold (750/1000) overlaid with black enamel and gold paillons, reminiscent of the reflections of the candlelit chandeliers in the windows of the Hall of Mirrors. The arches are crafted from Cacholong stone and Sarrancolin marble, sourced from the same quarry in the Hautes-Pyrénées region of France used in the construction of Versailles. The parquet floor is faithfully reproduced in solid oak. The chandeliers and costumed guests are engraved on a sapphire plate overlaid on the main dial. Inspired by clocks from the reign of Louis XIV, the 12 o'clock dial, with its champlevé enamel and engraved 18k yellow gold ring, evokes the traditions of haute horlogerie, while the skeletonized 18k yellow gold hands are crowned with the head of Apollo. The 18k yellow gold case is adorned with a hand-engraved laurel wreath on the bezel and a scene of Minerva and Mercury on the case ring, reproducing a painting from the Salon de la Paix—a room adjacent to the Hall of Mirrors. This timepiece is powered by the manufacture caliber MB M16.68, featuring the patented Suspended Exo Tourbillon complication, which took three years to develop. The interchangeable grey calfskin strap with alligator embossing and the triple-folded clasp in 18-karat yellow gold (750/1000) complete this exceptional timepiece. Limited to 8 pieces: the Montblanc Star Legacy Exo Tourbillon Château de Versailles: “Le Secret du Bal des Ifs” comes in a walnut box containing a music box that plays a melody from a Comédie-Ballet by Jean-Philippe Rameau. An enchanting spectacle on a miniature parquet floor, surrounded by marble arcades, reminiscent of the masked ball in the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.
