The Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph invites you to relive the horse races on the Champ de Mars in 1821. The dial features a 19th-century illustration of four jockeys and their horses crossing the finish line at the Champ de Mars racetrack in Paris, the very spot where Nicolas Rieussec once stood with his invention, the inkjet chronograph. Numerous gold-plated accents on the Arabic numerals, hour and minute hands, and chronograph counters harmonize perfectly with the brown-tinted dial. The inscriptions "Académie des Sciences de Paris" and "Chronographe Nicolas Rieussec" in French on the bezel commemorate the Academy's validation of Rieussec's invention in 1821. The strap lining is also adorned with a map of Paris from 1821. The brown, interchangeable calfskin strap was specially designed by Marco Tomasetta, Montblanc's artistic director, who drew inspiration for its pointed shape from the Maison's writing instruments. Limited to 821 pieces, the timepiece is housed in a 43 mm stainless steel case and powered by the in-house MB R200 automatic monopusher chronograph movement. A graphic Clous de Paris motif, inspired by the geometric pattern of Parisian cobblestones, adorns the oscillating weight.
